On April 11, 1997, the annual spring meeting was held at the Holiday Inn in
Clanton. Officers elected were: President, Terry Carlisle; Vice President,
Tommy Mosley; Secretary-Treasurer, Randall Peacock; Historian, Don Tomlinson;
Initiation Chair, Steve Graves. Selected for the Board of Directors were, Bob
Kimbrell, Billie Ward, Jerry Still, and Lee Bain. The annual initiation
banquet was held at the Birmingham Civic Center on July 29, 1997. New members
initiated were: Guy Gafford, George Martin, Dwight Holcombe, Susan Seals,
Jerry Holley and Dan Vest. The J. F. Ingram Awards were presented to Jim
Kendrick (active) and Bob Kimbrell (retired).
On May 8, 1998, the annual spring meeting was held at the Clanton Holiday
Inn. Officers elected were: President, Tommy Mosley; Vice President, Keith
Andrews; Secretary-Treasurer, Randall Peacock; Historian, Don Tomlinson;
Initiation Chair, Steve Graves. Council members elected were Bob Kimbrell, Lee
Bain, Ronnie Hayes, and Billie Ward. The J. F. Ingram Awards were presented to
Debra Holcombe (active) and Stan Neuenschwander (retired). The annual
initiation and summer meeting were held at the Birmingham Civic Center on
August 3, 1998. New members initiated were: Tessa Wallace, Judy Landis, Anita
Sherman, Ronnie Rains, Gwen Crawford, Pete Helms, Janice Drake, Mark Dutton,
Angie Waggoner, Teresa Bradford, and Brian Terry.
On May 7, 1999, the annual spring meeting was held at the Clanton Holiday
Inn. Officers elected were: President, Keith Andrews; Vice President, Steve
Stayton; Secretary-Treasurer, Randall Peacock; and Historian, Don Tomlinson.
Council members elected were Lee Bain, Ronnie Hayes, Bob Kimbrell, and Billie
Ward. The J. F. Ingram Awards were presented to Charles Findlay (retired) and
Lee Bain (active). Other awards presented were Distinguished Service Award,
Debra Holcombe; Distinguished New Member Award, Teresa Bradford; Distinguished
Teacher Award, Charlotte Heatherly, and Christensen Life Time Service Award,
Randall Peacock.
The Grand Chapter at the annual meeting in Orlando, Florida named Epsilon
Chapter of Iota Lambda Sigma the Outstanding Chapter in the Nation. Receiving
Grand Chapter Awards in New Orleans were Danny Carson, Distinguished Teacher
Award and Jim Kendrick, Distinguished Service Award. The initiation, banquet,
and summer meeting were held at the Birmingham Civic Center on July 26, 1999.
New members initiated were: Larry Baggett, Cecil Beggs, Julise Clement, Jerry
Dixion, Mike Dodd, Mary Fuller, Paul Goulart, Joe Hackworth, Olivia Johnson,
Harold Koons, Sherman Leeth, Mickey Maddox, Keith Mahaffey, John McGuire, Omar
Rasal, Eric Reid, David Sullivan, Mike Witt. Scholarship Recipients were Joy
Sabrina Stewart, and Crystal Dawn Wilson.
On April 28, 2000, the annual spring meeting was held at the South Baldwin
Center for Technology. Officers elected were: President, Steve Stayton; Vice
President, Marie Kraska Miller; Secretary-Treasurer, Randall Peacock;
Historian, Don Tomlinson; Initiation Chair, Wade Hancock. Council members
elected were Lee Bain, Ronnie Hayes, Bob Kimbrell, and Billie Ward. The J. F.
Ingram Awards were presented to Douglas Emerson (retired) and Marie Kraska
Miller (active). Other awards presented were: Distinguished Service Award, Lee
Bain; Distinguished New Member Award, Gene Dudley; Distinguished Teacher
Award, Wade Hancock; and Christensen Life Time Achievement Award, J. C.
Lindley. The annual initiation ceremony and summer meeting were held at the
Sheraton Ballroom in Birmingham on, July 31, 2000. New members initiated were:
Ted Craven, Christine Finerty, Holly Resmondo, Thomas White, Rebecca Pierce,
Charles Gilliland, Benny Reeves, Jr., Allen Rice, and Bobby Conrad.
On May 11, 2001, the annual spring meeting was held at the Cullman Area
Career Center. Officers elected were: President, Marie Miller; Vice President,
Teresa Bradford; Secretary, Debra Holcombe; Treasurer, Randall Peacock;
Historian, Don Tomlinson. The J. F. Ingram Awards were presented to Joe Heyer
(retired) and Steve Stayton (active). Other awards presented were: Judy
Landis, Outstanding New Member; Jill Adams, Distinguished Teacher Award; Marie
Miller, Distinguished Service Award; and Bob Kimbrell, Christensen Lifetime
Achievement Award. The Annual Initiation, Banquet and Summer Meeting were held
at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel on Tuesday, July 17,2001. New members
initiated were: James Butler, Mike Cox, Clyde Scarbrough, Ernest Scarbrough,
Ruthie Carpenter, Carl McDonald, Calvin King, David Sprayberry, Jimmy Young,
Sean Rhodes, Barry McNair, John Autrey, Julie Simmons, Margie Wooten, and
Jerry Dean. Scholarship recipients were Gene Dudley, J. C. Lindley Teacher
Scholarship; Russell Cofield, Rick Bell Scholarship; Stephanie Persell, Bill
Provost Scholarship.
On April 19, 2002, the annual spring meeting was held at the Brewbaker Tech
Magnet School in Montgomery. Officers elected were: Director, Charlotte
Heatherly; President, Teresa Bradford; Vice-President, Billie Ward; Secretary,
Debra Holcombe; Treasurer, Randall Peacock; Historian, Don Tomlinson;
Initiation Team Chairs, Marie K. Miller, and Wade Hancock. The J. F. Ingram
Awards were presented to Warren Sadler (retired) and Randy Swann (active).
Other awards presented were: Distinguished Service Award, Steve Stayton;
Ronnie Hayes, Distinguished Teacher Award; Christensen Lifetime Achievement,
Tommy Mosley; Distinguished New Teacher Award, Julise Clement. Our chapter
received the Outstanding Chapter Award in New Orleans, LA. during the Grand
Chapter meeting. A Necrology Ceremony was held in memory of Doc M. O. Hulsey
and Mr. Garmon. The Annual Initiation, Banquet and Summer Meeting were held at
the Adams Mark Hotel in Mobile on Friday, June 21, 2002. New members initiated
were: Patty Alexander, Danny Alldredge, Glennis Black, Heath Bradford, Dale
Cunningham, Gwen Davis, Frank Gregg, Mark Helton, Beverly Lavender, Wayne
Meadows, and Mike Stilley. Scholarship recipients were: Rozelon Bell and Dana
Marie Gibbs, Ricky Bell Scholarship; Jana Nicole Scott, Bill Provost
Scholarship; and Marie Elizabeth Pace, Hulsey Scholarship.
On May 9, 2003, the annual spring meeting was held at Resource Center for
Technology in Tuscaloosa. Officers elected were: President, Billie Ward;
Vice-President, Ronnie Hayes; Secretary, Debra Holcombe; Treasurer, Randall
Peacock; Historian, Don Tomlinson; Initiation Team Chairs, Teresa Bradford and
Wade Hancock. The J. F. Ingram Awards were presented to Teresa Bradford
(active), and Judy Landis (retired). Other awards presented were:
Distinguished Teacher Award, Wes Grant; Christensen Lifetime Achievement,
Cheryl Gibson; Distinguished Service, Randy Swann; New Member, Chris Finerty.
A Necrology Ceremony was held in memory of Wendell Speegle, Athol Sylvester,
Auburn Foote, Hubert Brooks, and Dr. Thomas A. Hancock, Jr. The Annual
Initiation, Banquet and Summer Meeting were held at Murphy High School in
Mobile on Friday, July 21, 2003. New members initiated were: Darin Baldwin,
Jeff Boone, Bethany Clem, Napoleon Culver, Tommy Glasscock, John H. Heard III,
Cheryl Knutsen, Ricky Melson, Trellys A. Morris, Gayle Morrow, Sarah F. Ray,
John Scott, Rhinnie B. Scott, Kevin H. smith, Milton Young. Scholarship
recipients were: Ricky Bell Scholarship, Kimberly Mirana Shin; Bill Provost
Scholarship, Allison Marie Knopp; Hulsey Scholarship, Olivia Corriveau
Samantha.
On April 16, 2004, the annual spring meeting was held at the Holiday Inn in
Prattville. Officers elected were: Co-Directors, Cheryl Gibson and Wes Grant;
President, Ronnie Hayes, Vice-President, Bennie Reeves; Secretary, Debra
Holcombe; Treasurer, Randall Peacock; Historian, Don Tomlinson; Initiation
Team Chairs, Billie Ward and Wade Hancock. Council Members were Lee Bain,
Keith Andrews, Bob Kimbrell, Holly Resmondo, and Charlotte Heatherly. The J.
F. Ingram Awards were presented to Wade Hancock (active) and James Kendrick
(retired). Other awards presented were: Christensen Lifetime Achievement,
Tommy Mosley; Distinguished Service, Teresa Bradford; Distinguished Teacher,
Cheryl Gibson; New Member, Holly Resmondo. A Necrology Ceremony in memory of
J. H. W. Belcher, Mauhugh Duncan, and Solon Gregg. The Annual Initiation,
Banquet and Summer Meeting were held at Bessemer State Technology College on
Monday, July 19, 2004. New members initiated were: Stanley V. Clark, Phyllis
French, Maisie Hales, Jesse Johnson, Shandy Porter, Patricia Posey, and Patsy
Smith. Scholarship recipients were: Ricky Bell Scholarship, Genneva Mae
Dooley; Bill Provost Scholarship; Rebecca Kay Wright; Hulsey Scholarship, Ryan
Derek Cloud.
On April 22, 2005, the annual spring meeting was held at the Holiday Inn in
Prattville. Officers elected were: Co-Directors, Cheryl Gibson and Wes Grant;
President, Benny Reeves; Vice-President, Brenda Johnson; Secretary, Debra
Holcombe; Treasurer, Jim Kendrick; Historian, Don Tomlinson; Initiation Team
Chairs, Ronnie Hays and Wade Hancock. Council Members were Lee Bain, Keith
Andrews, Bob Kimbrell, Holly Resmondo, and Charlotte Heatherly. The J. F.
Ingram Awards were presented to Benny Reeves (active) and Mark Jacobs
(retired). Other awards presented were: Christensen Lifetime Achievement, Ann
Gilmore; Distinguished Teacher, Cheryl Gibson; New Member, Darin Baldwin. A
New Necrology Ceremony was held in memory of Randall Peacock. The Annual
Initiation, Banquet and Summer Meeting were at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic
Center on Monday, July 25, 2005. New members initiated were: James Adkins,
Dianne Alldredge, Ed Castile, Kristi Webb Creel, Jeanette M. Custer, Jacob
Davis, Gregory M. Dudley, Allen Franklin, Wesley Hardman, Susan Harrison,
Myron Laurent, Shelley McGee, Dawn Morrison, Sardenia Peacock, Mike Riley, Ben
Scheierman, and Linda Wilson. . Scholarship recipients were: Ricky Bell
Scholarship, Jeffrey Steven Scott; Bill Provost/Sheelor Scholarship, April
TaFoya Thomas; Hulsey Scholarship, Ashley Taylor; Peacock Scholarship, Mason
Colby Rich.
On April 21, 2006 the annual spring meeting was held at the Holiday Inn in
Prattville. Officers elected were: Co-Directors, Cheryl Gibson and Wes Grant;
President, Brenda Johnson; Vice-President, Bob Kimbrell; Secretary, Debra
Holcombe; Treasurer, Jim Kendrick; Historian, Don Tomlinson; Initiation Team
Chairs, Benny Reeves and Wade Hancock. Council Members selected were Lee Bain,
Keith Andrews, Bob Kimbrell, Holly Resmondo, and Charlotte Heatherly. The J.
F. Ingram Awards were presented to Peggy Jones (retired) and Brenda Johnson
(active). The Christensen Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Tommy
Rhodes. A New Necrology Ceremony was held in memory of Dr. Leo Sumners and I.
W. Mitchell. Scholarship recipients were: Rick Bell Scholarship, Amanda L.
Baker; Sheelor/Bill Provost Scholarship, Brittany L. McMray; Hulsey
Scholarship, Katherine A. Hudson; Randall Peacock Scholarship, Whitney D.
Smothers. Winners of the teacher scholarships were: Sam Perryman, Tommy
Glasscock, Darrel Davis, and Tim Brandon. The Annual Initiation, Banquet and
Summer Meeting were held at the Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile on Monday,
July, 2006. New members initiated were: Darrel Adams, Dorothy Adams, Matt
Adams, Bridgette Chandler, David Daniel, Rebecca Eason, Carol Easterling, Mike
Evans, Rick Garrison, Carol Knight, Tiffaney Plato, Orval Seay, Margaret
Smith, Sandra Tittle, and Nancy Wilson.
